Description

A delightful dessert combining fresh strawberries and cinnamon in soft, fluffy rolls.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • Powdered sugar (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top; gradually add remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area until doubled (about 1 hour).
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (1/4 inch thick). Spread softened butter, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar evenly, then layer sliced strawberries.
  4. Roll tightly into a log and slice into rolls. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar mixed with milk before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
  • For a sweeter icing, adjust the amount of powdered sugar used.
