Description

A delicious, creamy gnocchi dish made with three types of cheese and seasoned perfectly with garlic and spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 (16-ounce) package shelf-stable or refrigerated potato gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic. Let it cook for about 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and vegetable broth, stirring to combine. Add Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Stir and let the sauce simmer gently for 4–5 minutes.
  3. Lower the heat and stir in the parmesan, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese until the sauce is smooth and luxuriously thick. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Add the gnocchi directly to the sauce. There’s no need to boil them first. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until the gnocchi are tender and start to float.
  5. Preheat your oven broiler. Sprinkle an extra handful of shredded cheese over the top of the gnocchi. Transfer the skillet to the oven and broil for 2–3 minutes until the top is bubbling and golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm, preferably with crusty bread or a fresh green salad.

Notes

  • If using refrigerated or vacuum-packed gnocchi, they will cook quickly in the sauce.
  • Feel free to adjust cheese types to your liking.
