A light and airy dessert topped with fresh berries and whipped cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 cups mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and draw an 8-inch circle as a guide.
- In a clean mixing bowl, combine egg whites and vinegar. Whip on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar one tablespoon at a time until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy.
- Gently fold in cornstarch and vanilla extract.
- Spoon the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet within the circle. Create swirls or peaks using a spatula.
- Bake for about 1 hour until dry to touch but soft inside. Turn off the oven and let it cool completely inside.
- Once cooled, transfer to a platter. Spread whipped cream over the top and pile on fresh berries.
Notes
- This dessert can be made ahead of time and assembled just before serving.
