- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 cup of chocolate chips and butter until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine melted chocolate mixture with granulated sugar and brown sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually fold in dry ingredients until just combined, then gently mix in remaining chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto prepared sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm but centers remain soft. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, bake for less time.
- Use a mix of dark and semi-sweet chocolate chips for variety.
