Description
These delicious boxed brownies can be cut into festive shapes and decorated for the holidays!
Ingredients

- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- as needed Food coloring (if you want to make colored frosting)
- as desired Festive sprinkles or candies
Instructions
- Make brownies, homemade or boxed version for 9×13 pan.
- Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Make your brownies and let them cool completely. Once they are cooled, cut them into triangles, whatever size you want.
- Make the frosting or use store-bought frosting.
- Whip the butter about a minute using a hand or stand mixer.
- Add in the confectioner’s sugar in several batches beating on low after each addition. Scrape the bowl down and repeat the process.
- Add a tablespoon of the cream while mixing on low then add the vanilla.
- Beat until you have an even, fluffy consistency. You can add more cream or milk if desired for a thinner consistency.
- Color the frosting if desired, using food coloring.
- Frost brownies with an offset spatula or use a star-shaped tip with a pastry bag to create designs.
- Add festive sprinkles, crushed candy canes, M&M candies, or chocolate chips to the frosting.
- Once decorated, let the frosting firm up and then place the brownie trees in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
