Description

This creamy and delicious cream cheese frosting is perfect for cakes and cupcakes.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, (softened (226-gram package))
  • ½ cup salted butter, (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups powdered sugar, (sifted)

Instructions

  1. Using either a stand mixer fitted with a wire whisk attachment or a medium-sized mixing bowl (2-3 quarts) and a handheld mixer on medium-high speed, mix the softened cream cheese and softened butter for 2-2½ minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Continue mixing until well combined and no streaks of vanilla remain.
  3. Lower the mixer speed to medium-low. Add the powdered sugar ½ cup at a time, mixing well after each addition until your frosting is smooth and creamy.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese and butter are softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • This frosting can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
