Description

This delicious banana bread is perfect for using up ripe bananas and makes a wonderful snack or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the mashed bananas with the melted butter until mostly smooth.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  4. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until glossy and combined.
  5. Stir in the flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped nuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 60–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Make sure bananas are fully ripe for the best flavor.
  • Can substitute walnuts with pecans or omit them for a nut-free version.
